The good old days of cable tv 📺. Flipping through channels to find something to watch. Tuning in at the same time each day to catch your favorite shows. One single bill with cable and internet combined. Ahh the simplicity.
Simple is no longer the case. There are endless shows now available to watch at any time via an endless list of streaming services. It was supposed to be cheaper switching from cable to a streaming service, but we now have so many subscriptions that the cost might even surpass what we paid for cable. We sign up for a free subscription trial to watch one show, intending to cancel once we finish the series, yet we never do. The free trial ends and the subscription charges continue to eat away at your wallet each month.
Let us take control of our subscription spending. Write a list of your active subscriptions. What is the cost of each and when does it renew/expire? How much do you actually use that subscription every month? Add up how much you spend on subscriptions monthly, then annually. Does the total give you this face 😱 or are you okay with it? If you are not okay with the amount, take action with our tip below.
MMM tip: Pick your lowest usage subscription. This month either cancel it or contact the company to get a better rate.
Until next week!
