David vs Goliath. Harry Potter vs Voldemort. To be or not to be. Who comes out on top?

Discipline vs motivation is another classic battle. What keeps you pursuing your goals? What keeps you from falling off the wagon? In my mind it does not have to be either/or. Discipline and motivation can be used together to keep your finances running smoothly. Motivation gets you started, and discipline keeps you going 🏃.

Motivation can be moments of inspiration, goals you want to accomplish. A dream vacation or getting out of debt are good examples. It is often tied to some type of emotion, a feeling. Discipline keeps you grounded long term. You decide to go on a dream vacation so you start consistently saving some money every payday. Discipline is what helps you build habits and routines to reach your goals. Be motivated and dream big. And use discipline to help you achieve those dreams.

MMM tip: What is your motivation for achieving financial independence? Tie it to a feeling, not just an object.

Until next week!
